GROUP TOURS

We offer specialized tours year-round to groups of 10 or more. From corporate retreats to family reunions (and of course, students of all ages!) you can immerse yourself in Civil Rights history, right here where the history happened.

Tours are offered Tuesdays - Saturdays, with the last tour starting at 3:00 pm. Groups should plan to be here for about an hour. Tours consist of verbal instructions on navigating the museum, followed by self-guided exploration. Exhibits are intended for ages 13 and up, but younger visitors are always welcome.

Groups of 10 or more receive a discounted admission rate of $1 off per person in addition to any other discounts that may apply to individual group members. A $1 per person deposit is required to confirm a tour reservation and is due two business days after the reservation is made. We can take credit card payments over the phone and checks by mail.

K-12 school groups: The same discounts listed above apply to school groups. Additionally, K-12 school staff members travelling with student groups receive free admission. Our exhibits require a lot of reading and are most appropriate for ages 13 and up. Younger students are always welcome but may need more support from teachers or other adult chaperones.

Groups of 10 or more should book at least a week in advance by using the link below or contact us at 334-414-8647 or FreedomRidesMuseum@ahc.alabama.gov. Large groups may need to split into smaller groups to tour the museum separately. If your group includes more than 25 individuals, please call the museum to discuss before making your reservation.
