FREEDOM RIDES MUSEUM PRESENTS THE GREEN BOOK: NAVIGATING JIM CROW AMERICA EXHIBIT
Jun 23, 2022  -  The Freedom Rides Museum, a historic property operated by the Alabama Historical Commission, will host The Green Book: Navigating Jim Crow America, during the month of July. The exhibit focuses on the annual Green Book travel guide that catered to Black travelers during the twentieth century.
ALABAMA HISTORICAL COMMISSION HOSTS FREE WORKSHOP ON HISTORIC PRESERVATION TAX INCENTIVES
Jun 21, 2022  -  The Alabama Historical Commission (AHC), in partnership with the Selma-Dallas County Chamber of Commerce, will present a free Historic Preservation Tax Incentives Workshop on Thursday, July 7 from 1:00 pm – 4:00 pm at The Anchor, 15 Franklin Street, Selma.
PUBLIC MEETINGS FOR RESULTS OF HISTORIC RESEARCH COMPLETED IN HURRICANE MICHAEL AFFECTED AREA
Jun 17, 2022  -  The Alabama Historical Commission (AHC) will host virtual public meetings on June 28th, June 30th, and July 7th to provide updates on the AHC’s on-going project to document historic resources in areas impacted by Hurricane Michael in October 2018.
"ART OF THE DISH" EXHIBIT
Jun 8, 2022  -  “Art of the Dish,” the popular antique and vintage china exhibit, will be held at Belle Mont Mansion June 23-25, 2022. Individuals from across the communities of the Shoals have been invited to display their private collections of china and tableware, some dating back to the 1700s. An array of colorful porcelain and ironstone pieces, accented with glassware in various tablescapes, will be set throughout Belle Mont.
