Christmas at Pond Spring event to be held at General Joe Wheeler Home
Dec 6, 2022 - Pond Spring, The General Joe Wheeler Home will be hosting its annual “Christmas at Pond Spring” event on Sunday, December 11, from 12:00-4:00 PM. Sponsored by the Friends of General Joe Wheeler, the event will feature a Christmas story for children at 2:00 PM followed by an ornament making activity. Complimentary refreshments will be provided, and all age groups are welcome. The event is free to the public.

Ironclad ships CSS Huntsville and CSS Tuscaloosa officially listed in National Register of Historic Places
Dec 2, 2022 - The submerged wrecks of the Confederate ironclad ships CSS Huntsville and CSS Tuscaloosa, located in waters near Mobile, Alabama, were officially listed in the National Register of Historic Places on July 18, 2022. The wrecked vessels are among the few surviving Confederate ironclads.
