"DRILL, DRILL,DRILL" LIVING HISTORY SERIES CONTINUES AT CONFEDERATE MEMORIAL PARK
Aug 8, 2019  -  The Alabama Historical Commission and Confederate Memorial Park are pleased to announce “Drill, Drill, Drill!” as part of their 2019 Living History series. On Saturday, August 17, from 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, living historians will focus on the manual of arms and military maneuvers of the Civil War.
OLD CAHAWBA HOSTS "TRUE CRIME WALKING TOUR"
Jul 29, 2019  -  Old Cahawba Archaeological Park, a historic site operated by The Alabama Historical Commission, will be hosting its “True Crime Walking Tour” on Saturday, August 3, from 10:00 am – 11:00 am.
ALABAMA HISTORICAL COMMISSION FILES ADMIRALTY CLAIM ON THE CLOTILDA
Jul 26, 2019  -  On Friday, July 26, the Alabama Historical Commission (AHC), the State Historic Preservation Office, filed an Admiralty Claim in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Alabama in Mobile as part of an ongoing and long-term protection and preservation plan for the Clotilda, the last-known slave ship in the United States.
ALABAMA HISTORICAL COMMISSION ANNOUNCES 2020 GRANT PROGRAM
Jun 27, 2019  -  The Alabama Historical Commission, the State Historic Preservation Office, has opened its 2020 Grant Program with funds appropriated by the Alabama Legislature. Historic sites meeting the eligibility can submit applications now through August 15, 2019.
