Winter Quarters 1862
From noon on Friday, January 25 – noon on Sunday, January 27
Confederate Memorial Park, Marbury, Alabama

Confederate Memorial Park and the Alabama Historical Commission are pleased to announce Winter Quarters 1862.

Using an authentically reproduced Civil War barracks, over 100 re-enactors will provide an immersive experience for visitors. Winter weather during the Civil War created impassable roads and other harsh conditions that significantly slowed most campaigns. Soldiers busied themselves with a variety of duties including drill, work detail, music, and games. Come see what life was like for soldiers during the cold winter months.

Admission to all activities is FREE. Saturday, January 26 will provide the greatest range of activities for visitors. Donations to the museum are appreciated.

For more information, museum reservations, souvenir purchases, or other details contact the Park at 205-755-1990 or alacmp@bellsouth.net.
